Hatha Yoga is a practice that combines stretching the body, regulating the breath and focusing the mind....in order to reduce stress, lower blood pressure and improve heart function. Yoga, of course, also calms the body and mind.

 
 

What is Hatha Yoga?

 

Hatha Yoga is as simple to explain as 'A...B...C'.
A) stretching One's body....B) regulating One's breath....C) focusing One's mind. In fact, this class proceeds precisely in that order, and for very good reason.

'Body', 'breath' and 'mind' are three different aspects of One's being. Each are, more or less, 'subtler' than the others.'Body' being the most mundane and 'mind' being the most subtle. 'Breath' (or the 'energy' known as 'breath') is more subtle than the one and less subtle than the other. 'Breath' is what links 'body' and 'mind'. It should be recognized: the more subtle the energy, the more difficult to control.
